Items We Accept & Do Not Accept

• Appliances:
  • Large freestanding appliances (such as fridges, stoves, washing machines, dryers, small to medium sized freezers) in working condition. **These items must be disconnected (i.e. from the plumbing, power, etc.) prior to the Collection Team's arrival.**
  • Small electrical appliances in working condition (i.e. toasters, toaster ovens, blenders, bar fridges, microwaves, air fryers, coffee makers, slow cookers, air conditioners, paper shredders, clothing irons, hair dryers, curling irons, etc.)
• Area Rugs
• Arts & Crafts supplies
• BBQs (propane tanks must be removed from propane BBQs; we do not accept natural gas BBQs)
• Books & magazines (except for encyclopedias/textbooks)
• Bicycles
• Camping gear & accessories
• Clothing
• Collectibles
• Cosmetics, lotions & soaps (must be UN-OPENED)
• Computers: desktops, monitors, mice, keyboards, speakers, laptops, etc. (under 5 years old)
• Dishware/Glassware (i.e. plates, bowls, cups, glasses, etc.)
• Electronics (i.e. radios, amplifiers, receivers, speakers, DVD/Blu-ray players, VHS players, media/music devices, phones, etc.)
• Exercise equipment (SMALL) - i.e. weights, mats, hand-held fitness items, etc. (we do not accept large/heavy exercise machines such as treadmills, ellipticals, stationary/recumbent bikes, etc.)
• Funding in the form of sponsorship and cash donations
• Furniture (in gently used condition)
• Gaming consoles, equipment, accessories & games
• Jewellery
• Kitchenware (i.e. pots, pans, utensils, baking tools, etc.)
• Knick-knacks
• Lamps
• Linens/bedding
• Luggage/Travel accessories
• Mattresses, box springs and bed frames in clean, gently used condition (individual box springs are subject to supply and demand)
• Media (CDs, Blu-rays, DVDs, VHS tapes, records - media must not be home-recorded and/or copyrighted materials)
• Mobility/Medical Aids - For health & safety, these items must be clean, in gently used condition, and in working order with no broken or missing pieces. E.g. wheelchairs/transport chairs, walkers, canes, crutches, bath/shower seats, safety rails/grab bars, scooters, adult briefs/pads (in new/unopened packaging), etc. 
• Office equipment (small): such as small desks, office chairs, small filing cabinets, etc. (excludes large office desks, metal desks, printers & office partitions)
• Office & School Supplies/Stationary (i.e. pens, paper, binders, notebooks, etc.)        
• Patio furniture
• Pictures/Wall art
• Purses, belts, hats & accessories
• Puzzles/Board games
• Seasonal items (Christmas, Halloween, Easter, summer, winter, etc.)
• Shoes/footwear
• Sporting goods/equipment
• Tools (hand-held & power tools - in working condition)
• Toys (indoor & outdoor)
• TVs that meet the following requirements:
  • flat screen models
  • are in working condition
  • remote not required, but greatly appreciated if included
• Yard/outdoor equipment in working/reusable condition, such as lawn mowers & weed trimmers (with gas removed), rakes, hoes, shovels, leaf & snow blowers (with gas removed), etc.

**Items that are dirty, ripped, stained, broken, missing pieces, pet or smoke damaged, rusty, and/or are health/safety hazards.**

• **Flammable, combustible or corrosive materials** (i.e. propane tanks, items containing gasoline, diesel fuel, or kerosene, car batteries, etc.)
• **ALL items from a home with evidence of rodent and/or insect activity, or that have recently undergone pest control treatments/procedures.**
• **Items that are or have been wet, moldy, heavily soiled/dirty and/or have noticeably strong odours**
• **Infant/toddler items that do not meet government safety requirements.** To be eligible for donation all infant/toddler items must include the following:
  • Manufacturer name
  • Manufacturer date/expiry date
  • Warning labels
  • Guidelines for use
  • Installation instructions
  • Functioning/complete parts
  • Must not be listed on the Government of Canada's banned/recalled list: Industry Guide to Second-hand Products (Including Children's Products); Recalls, Advisories and Safety Alerts

  • Infant self-feeding devices
  • Jequirity beans (or anything that is made with jequirity beans)
  • Polycarbonate baby bottles containing bisphenol A (BPA)
